BARCELONA, SPAIN

Barcelona in Spain is a city that stole my heart from the very first stroll through its streets. With a history dating back over 2,000 years, you can feel the layers of time in the Gothic Quarter, where medieval streets wind past ancient buildings and hidden squares. Everywhere you turn, Gaudí’s masterpieces — from the Sagrada Família to Park Güell and elegant Casa Milà — showcase the city’s bold creativity. Walking through the city, you quickly realize why locals say Barcelona has a rhythm all its own. The city once hosted the 1888 and 1929 World Expositions, which helped transform it into the vibrant cultural hub it is today. It’s a place where you feel welcome and relaxed, a city that always offers something new to discover with every return, a city that truly has so much to offer.

Our trip to Spain was a 7-day summer holiday in Barcelona in the second half of June. We visited many museums and landmarks, and below you’ll find all the essential details and information you might need if you’re planning the same route as we did. We also spent time at the beach every day, which is one of the reasons we loved Barcelona so much as a city that offers a wide range of activities all in one place.

Destinations for Our Next Barcelona Trip

Since Barcelona left such a beautiful impression on us, I’m sure we’ll return one day. The combination of a stunning coastline, incredible landmarks, and world-class museums – all wrapped in a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere – makes this city the perfect balance of exploration and leisure. The blend of art, urban culture, and the unmistakable sense of freedom that’s felt on every corner won us over instantly.

Next time, we definitely want to visit the Sagrada Família (properly, this time!), as well as Casa Batlló. We also missed Hospital de Sant Pau, Montjuïc Hill, sunset walk at the beach and night walk in a Gothic Quarter. No matter how many days you stay here, the city always leaves you wanting more.
